Welcome to LaserUrology! Now, there is advanced technology

Dr. Lin provides state of the art urology in addition to traditional surgery at Flagler Hospital, the first hospital in the southeast to offer Greenlight PVP.

The gold standard surgical treatment for BPH is the Transurethral
Resection of the Prostate Gland (TURP). This procedure carries
potential side effects and complications including bleeding, water
intoxication, impotence, incontinence, urethral stricture, and
retrograde ejaculation. Alternative treatments such as Transurethral
Needle Ablation (TUNA) and Microwave Prostratron do not promise
results as good as the traditional TURP. Laser operation with
YAG has a high incidence of dysuria and a relatively longer recovery.
These procedures usually require post-procedure catheters for
several days. The newest treatment for BPH is the Photoselective
Vaporization of the Prostate (PVP) recently approved by the FDA
in November 2001. It is a minimally invasive outpatient/ambulatory/short stay procedure that offers excellent and immediate results with minimal
complications. Patients are usually catheter free in less than
24 hours. (information adapted from Laserscope)
